  • Do I have to use smokeless products in my area?
    If you live in a Smoke Control Area but do not have an exempt appliance you are only allowed to burn authorised fuels. Anthracite, Excel, New Heat and Coke are all smokeless products however Coal and Coal Doubles are not. To find out if you live in a Smoke Control area you will need to contact your Local Authority.
  • What type of coal is best for a multi-fuel burner?
    Our most popular product sold for use on multi-fuel burners is Excel. We also sell New Heat which generates more heat and can be left in over night. Logs are also a popular choice, offering a cosy flame but burn faster.
  • Where can I buy multi fuel burning stoves, fires and fire surrounds?"
    Here at Cooper's we have personally used Housewarming of Selby for a Multi Fuel Burner which we have been delighted with.
  • Which coal is best for an open fire?
    The most popular choice is Excel. This will provide maximum warmth and since coal and coal doubles have been phased out, it's a popular and cost effective alternative.
  • How long do I have to wait for my delivery?
    Deliveries are made Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. We will deliver to your home within 5 working days. Please note the conditions of delivery on the Delivery page.
  • What if I’m not in when the delivery arrives?.
    When you call to place your order, please let us know of any special requirements, for example if there are roaming dogs, if the gate will be locked or if you live at an address which is difficult to access. If you are not likely to be at home when the delivery is scheduled then please tell the office and notify us where to leave your order.
  • How can I pay?
    We can accept debit or credit card payment over the telephone.
